WINGS OF COURAGE
BENEFITING MOMS WITH CANCER
TEA AND FASHION SHOW/SILENT AUCTION

ARROYO TRABUCO GOLF CLUB, MISSION VIEJO

It all started over a cup of tea. A tremendous event was held on May 2, 2010 on the beautiful grounds of the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo, CA DeAnna and Estela are breast cancer survivors. While going through their cancer journey, both women made themselves a promise that they would do something to help other women when we were cured.

DeAnna founded the non-profit organization "Moms with Cancer (www.momswithcancer.org) to help other Moms and families during their cancer journey. Estela organizes, promotes and gives generously to help other women with breast cancer. Together they created, "Wings of Courage." Wings of Courage is inspired by moms going though cancer and the many moms who went through cancer. Deanna and Estela picked the Sunday before Mother's Day so they could also honor all Mothers. This event especially celebrates women who have faced or facing breast cancer with great courage.

The event also honored and thanked Dr. Lisa Curcio for bringing these two courageous and strong women together. "Dr. Lisa Curcio, our wonderful doctor and breast cancer survivor, introduced me to DeAnna and I knew there and then that the right moment and the right cause had finally come my way," said Estela.

It was a sold-out event! Everyone attending contributed to making this event a tremendous success. We thank you for your contribution to Moms with Cancer.

Wings of Courage

Cancer is an enemy that lurks in the dark,
waiting to attack.

When it does, you feel like you are in a cocoon of
darkness, confusion and despair.
But then you gather your forces:
your family, doctors and friends.

You start growing your wings of courage, hope and faith.
You push and you push against the cocoon walls.
Suddenly, one day, the cocoon cracks open,
you spread your wings and you fly back into life.

Like a butterfly, you stop on every flower,
You notice its color,
You notice its shape,
You smell its fragrance...

We do this in life by cherishing every "now" moment.
We should not take tomorrow for granted.

For tomorrow is not guaranteed.
