recently attended two major meetings on breast care.

In April
2008,
Dr. Curcio and
Alice Daugherty,
RN, MSN,CNP, attended the American Society of Breast
Disease Annual Meeting held in Chicago, IL. (www.asbd.org)
Both
Dr.
Curcio and Alice
were recently accepted as members of this elite society.
This is a multidisciplinary meeting tailored to physicians
caring of breast patients. From this meeting, much new
information was brought back to our practice to optimize the
care of our patients.

On May 1st
through the 3rd,
Dr.
Lisa Curcio
traveled to
New York to attend the American Society of Breast Surgeons (www.breastsurgeons.org)
meeting. This is the premier meeting for breast surgeons and
provides an educational forum to learn new techniques and
review the current scientific data about the care of breast
patients.
Dr.
Curcio
attended the oncoplastic course for the second time. This is
a newer surgical technique to reconstruct the breast after
breast conservation. To learn more about about

Oncoplastic surgery is an innovative technique that
allows the
breast
surgeon, in most cases,
to reconstruct the breast after the cancer surgery.
This will help to minimize deformity of the breast after
breast cancer surgeries. At
Advanced Breast Care
Specialists, we are committed to bring the most
recent advances to the front line of cancer care in
South Orange County.
