Dr. Curcio:

A note to thank you for your expertise in my recent successful breast surgery. You and your entire staff were all so professional and organized it was reassuring in just knowing my health was in competent hands.

I feel great, mo pain whatsoever; absolutely not complications.  I’m so grateful to have had a professional such as you.

Thanks so much.

Dr. Curcio,

Thank you so much for all that you and your staff have done for my benefit over this difficult time. You are truly and amazing woman and I am in "awe" of how talented, professional and competent you are. I feel so lucky you are my surgeon.  I'm so grateful.  Thank you and your staff for your dedication to all women with breast cancer.

If there is ever anything I can do to support you or the cause, please let me know.

Karen

Thank you Dr. Curcio for the good surgical care program.  After talking with others who have had breast cancer surgery, I understand that your surgical program, post pre-surgical and post-surgical, is well organized and complete.  Some other surgeons do not address issues such as lymphedema and post-surgical physical therapy and are not readily accessible to answer questions.  You also have a well-deserved reputation for caring and relating you your patients.

Thanks for all your efforts and good work.
Margaret K.

Dear Dr. Curcio,

I had MaKayla at "Teddy Bear Tea Cups" for tea time on Balboa Island. She was cruising around the store and brought me this care and said; "Grandma, please help me send this card to Dr. Curcio."  The sales girl and I were about in tears. She dictated the note, signed it and made sure we went to the post office to mail it.  She may be your youngest fan! I thought you should know it was her own idea.  We all thank you but this was special.

Sincerely,
Margaret

Thank you for taking such good care of my mom for me.

Love,
MaKayla

Dear Dr. Curcio,

Just a note to thank you for your skill and expertise. I appreciate your care and concern. Had you not pushed me to get my biopsy done my outcome may have been much different. Thank you for being that type of physician…one who goes that “extra” measure to ensure your patients stay healthy. You are the best!

Sincerely,
Mary Beth

Dear Dr. Curcio,

I wanted to take a minute to say Thank You for making a pretty scary time not so bad.  You are so thoughtful and reassuring. I feel so fortunate to have had you as my surgeon.  Your staff was wonderful.

Thanks for everything,
Brenda C.

Dear Dr. Curcio,

Where do I begin? Thank you just doesn’t seem enough. You have been so wonderful and supportive on this journey that I am on. I feel that God has directed everything from the moment that I was diagnosed with cancer, through my chemo treatments. He has truly given me “The Dream Team” of doctors. I feel that He not only gave me a gifted surgeon in you, but a friend. You will always be very special to me and very close to my heart.

Thank you so very much for guiding me through this amazing journey. If there is anything that I can do to help in speaking to patients about their fears or help answer questions, I am so happy to do that. I just feel that God had a wonderful purpose for this journey that I am on.

With much love and God’s blessings to you! Thank you sooo very much!

Cancer Survivor,
Lisa G.

Lots of Love
Diana B.

Monday, October 3, 2006
The Radiologist calls to say that the biopsy is malignant, as expected. I call Dr. B’s office and he wants me to contact Dr. Lisa Curcio. She’s a surgical oncologist and he is convinced she is absolutely the best doctor for me. He calls her and I also call her and leave a message. I am a bit bummed that I don’t hear from her on Monday. On Tuesday I waited all day for her to call and about 3 o’clock decided to go out and run errands. I know that if I don’t hear from her soon, I will contact another surgeon. When I get home I have two messages from Dr. Curcio-she called at 3:09 and 3:30-I guess my patience ran out 10 minutes to soon. I quickly call her back and she answers the phone (I’m utterly surprised!). She is extremely helpful and talks to me for at least 20 minutes. We make an appointment to meet in her office on Thursday morning, and in the meantime she sends me forms and a history to fill out so we can hit the ground running on Thursday. She also explains that she doesn’t really have an office of her own right now. Her new office is being constructed and in the meantime we’ll meet in a ‘borrowed’ office located close to her soon-to-be-new office.

Thursday, October 6, 2006 10:30 a.m.
We meet in Dr. Lisa Curcio’s ‘borrowed’ office . She is awesome and I feel very confident that my case is in good hands. Dr. B was right-she’s amazing. She spent nearly 2 hours talking to Ron and me about breast cancer and my particular case. I explained to her that I REALLY want to go on our trip to Half Moon Bay next week, and she agrees to work around that if we will agree to come home a day early so we can meet the Tumor Board on Friday. She also arranges an MRI for Monday morning, the day before our short trip. I will be busy delivering films to her Breast Clinic office, picking up the biopsy and delivering it to the Breast Clinic for a 2nd opinion, and getting ‘all the ducks in order’ so we can proceed quickly. When we were leaving she gave me a big hug-as if we were both in this together.

From my ‘diary’ of breast cancer ordeal
Patricia

Dear Dr. Curcio,

I can’t thank you enough for everything you have done for me. Words alone cannot express how I feel. You have been extremely kind and very comforting during the entire process. I am very lucky to say I know both of you. My husband and I again thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Sincerely,
Mindy

Dear Dr. Curcio,

Just had to drop a note to tell you how much I enjoyed the great article (Today’s Woman) about my favorite doctor. The article was so interesting and all the good things said about you are so true. Congratulations and I am so proud and happy that I am one of your many pleased patients. I am so fortunate at this point and it is because of you.

God bless,
Greta

Dear Dr. Curcio and all staff members,

I would like to thank everybody for such a wonderful attitude, professionalism and caring ability that my sister received recently. Dr. Lisa Curcio, you had a great impact on my sister. As always she says that you gave her positive energy. Thanks again for what you did for her. You have all my admiration.

Yours truly,
Frederick
